January, 1554. Light-fingered Jack Blackjack knows he's not going to have a good day when he wakes with a sore head next to a dead body in a tavern's yard. But when he discovers what's in the dead man's purse, his day is set to get much worse. The purse explains why the mysterious man with the broad-brimmed hat wants to catch him. But so does the Lord Chancellor, as does the enigmatic Henry. In fact almost everyone seems to be after Jack Blackjack. If it weren't for the rebel army marching on London determined to remove Queen Mary from her throne, Jack could leave the city. Instead he must try to work out who killed the man in the yard, and why.

Rebellion Message A Jack Blackjack Mystery (Audible Audio Edition) Michael Jecks Peter Noble Soundings Books Reviews
Love Micheal Jenks, but not sure if I like this new aeries, will give the next book a try to see.
The main problem with this story is that the main character is portrayed as a blundering blockhead, which is not a character type that I have sympathy for.
I did not like this nearly as well as the Templar series, but far better than the depressing mercenary series.
I will probably try another one, in hopes that the character will start observing and thinking.
Loved the story. The series should get better as it goes along. I always love Jecks stories and characters.
Masterful writing with a lot of historical background. Jecks really knows how to weave a tale and I am looking forward to reading the next one. Super
I have read all of Michael Jecks previous books and loved them. This attempt with a new character is disappointing. The story has a murder and a historical event but is not very believable. Told in the first person, the character is not particularly interesting...bumbling and bungling through fantastic incidents and unbelievable coincidences. I can appreciate the desire to write something with a fresh perspective, but this falls short in all respects.
When
will we get the continued story????? Who will gentleman Jack have to
Illiminate???can't wait for the one in this series.
Love Jecks' characters and this time period. Jack is a simple guy just trying to get bye in London when he meets the wrong mark. A simple purse snatching gets him drug into something much more.
I am an Anglophile and a Tudorphile. I enjoyed this book. The story is a very interesting tale of Tudor history. Michael Jecks has done well with this new series.
